FUTURE RE MADE

m pavilion event

27 February 2025

FUTURE reMADE invites you to experience this public event—Materials for Coexistence. Commissioned by MPavilion, an initiative of the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, and created by Ollie Cotsaftis, Sarah D’Sylva, and Nina Williams. You’ll journey through five sensory encounters designed to reveal how regenerative materials and circular design can create the conditions for coexistence.
We anticipate a vibrant atmosphere with a bar, DJ, and intimate space for sustainability leaders and enthusiasts to connect, reflect, and mingle. It’s a free, open to the PUBLIC EVENT.
Guests could wander the pavilion and taste regenerative futures, touch the extended life of second-hand garments, smell the unique scent of 3D printable biodegradable bioplastics, and see the poetic adaptability of zero-waste, modular furniture and regenerative natural fibres. Open every facet of perception and attune yourself to a future that’s happening now. FUTURE re MADE will show and demonstrate a modular furniture play space. The pieces that make ‘MONSTER the table’ and other Modular furniture pieces will hang on the wall which guests can make up into tables. Attendees can also solve the puzzle of assembling and disassembling furniture sets from plastics that otherwise would have ended up in landfill. FUTURE re MADE will demonstrate flat-pack, space-saving, make-it-your-own, nails, screws and glue-free modular furniture already in production today and is an example of the reality, not just future possibility, of slow-made, circular solutions.

CO ARCHITECTURE – MAKERS TO WATCH 2025

10 December, 2024

FUTURE re MADE crafts ethical, Melbourne-made furniture, including tables, sideboards, and custom designs, all with a modern mid-century aesthetic. The Collection eliminates bolts, screws, glue and instructions; the creator, Polly Cadden, describes the pieces as “flatpack without the fuss”. Using 90% post industrial waste and 10% colour, fasteners and UV additives, the studio creates versatile designs for indoor and outdoor use.
Their collection for 2025, ‘WALNUT Verses PLUM,’ features a striking combination of upcycled wood veneer and HDPE recycled plastic.Collectible and interchangeable, the pieces are designed with the philosophy of form followed by function. The collection showcases vibrant colour options, including PLUM, BUBBLEgum and BuTTER. Driven by sustainability and durability, FUTURE re MADE aspires to generate a minimal impact on our planet.

“I have always wanted to add another element to remade plastic. We have been busy sourcing existing wood veneers, focusing on neutral and natural textures a contrast to the bright plastics we are renowned for.”

melbourne design week 2024

APRIL 2024

FUTURE RE MADE are participants for the first time at Melbourne Design Week – Australia’s largest and leading annual design festival and takes place 23 May -2 June 2024.

Exploring the theme of ‘Design the world you want’, the 2024 program brings into focus the use of energy, ethics and ecology to encourage positive change, reimagine existing systems and offer innovative design solutions to complex global challenges.

FUTURE re MADE invites you to explore ‘Seeing the Positive’, a collection of furniture motivated by living in a world without waste. FUTURE re MADE show a single line cut solution to their slow made designer tables and objects.

“The ultimate goal was to design a collection using minimal waste. Each piece has been designed with considerable focus. The mirror design was completely inspired by the true negative shape, I look for the possibilities, and I love the way it just about designs itself” says FUTURE re MADE designer and owner Polly Cadden.
